This bunch of helium balloons got away early from a planned mass balloon release by children at the Wichita Riverfest.

As casual as this shot may be, it’s the sort of photograph that wins prizes. You should consider entering this in some contests. Is there a photo competition at the State Fair? Think about the fog series, too. Get some high quality prints made and enter!

Ken you are too kind. The irony is, I shot the Riverfest for their photo contest. I have those whittled down to around 150 images, 24 of which will be submitted spread out over 6 catagories. Although one can never really predict what is in the mind of the judges, this particular one doesn’t really work for the contest because there is nothing about it that identifies it as being from Riverfest. (The contest is the way the festival operators gather a lot of advertising imagery for a very modest cost.) By posting this one on my blog I’ve disqualified for a Riverfest entry anyway.
I do need to pay more attention to other contests, I never really tried entering any other than this Riverfest thing. Thanks for the nudge. I could see putting out some of that fog material. Hmmmm.
